XM607 Questions

Question 1: Where did TSI get the design of the 607 Buttstock?
TSI was not privy to original Colt drawings of the buttstock, so they had to take a different approach to accurately redesign the charished 607 buttstock. Tom at TSI was able the disassemble and blueprint 2 different original XM607 rifles. From these blueprinting sessions, TSI was able to make the most accurate reproduction of the buttstock without actually having the original drawing. Most other reproductions of the 607 buttstocks are actually a copy of Tom's work, and some don't even come close to the original stock.

Question 2: What is the cost of the XM607 buttstock?
We assume that Colt discontinued the Gen 1 two position stock for a couple reasons; one is the stock was a little heavy and two the stock was made up of many parts therefore costly to manufacturer. When Tom manufactured the original reproduction he was actually losing money to make each stock due to cost of parts and more importantly time to manufacture. We have not determined a final cost for the stocks, but we are attempting to keep cost low by eliminating labor. There is nothing that can be done about part cost except higher quantities. Right now we are making the first run based on one hundred parts. We will have a better handle on cost in the next two months.

Question 3: Will a three position version be available?
A three position stock can be produced, but it will be done on a case by case basis. We will not (at this time) make a specific run of one hundred pieces of the outer lock tube with the extra position slot. We can however machine this position on our manual mill.

Question 4: Will the End Cap have the L and O marking similar to the original Colt design? Yes, here are a few links: End Cap & Markings

Question 5: Will other parts like Handguards, barrels, complete kits be available? We are pleased to announce we will be offering the 607 Buttstock, and the 607 Handguards (with caps). Other items may become available as we step into this project.
